I Want To Be Friends With Oprah!

June 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

There is goodness in some, and there are is greatness in others!  I truly believe that Oprah is the epitome of greatness! Although she is at the top of the food chain, she could be many things but first and foremost she is real. She is genuine and actually cares for the people around her.

Working for Oprah must be a delight. She appears to have a huge staff that surrounds and attends to her every need. But she started at the bottom and rose to the top. She is a true rags to riches story. But what is exclusive to her is that she has not forgotten where she came from. She is thankful to people who have and continue to do things for her. Yes this makes her a good boss.

Sending people/employees on the trips of their life-time is a great business gesture as well as a heartfelt gesture. When you make money in business you need to write of the expenses that it takes to kepp you in business. She could have written off anything, but she chose to make this memorable for the people around her, and thus to Oprah sending your whole entire staff and their immediate families on a cruise is really something! I know that everyone is thankful, rested, and ready to go on working.

Boosting morale of your working staff is something that every boss should do. If not those glamorous trips: just donuts or lunch is great and most likely well withing a budget. But to really achieve what Oprah has that all others do not is the simple truly that of being thankful! Being deeply thankful will show. They way the management conducts its skills will transfer over into the work. If you are loved it will show.

So for all the bosses out there just a simple truly meaning ful thank you will help you to achieve Oprah status in your office; try it if you dare!

Cindy Anthony-She Dumped Oprah!

April 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Cindy Anthony claims that in a text message she sent to WKMG reporter Jessica D’Onofrio, she claims that she is the one whom dumped Oprah Winfrey not the other way around. Cindy Anthony says to her something to this effect:  oh BTW (means by the way) I cancelled Oprah b/c (means because) of Integrity. hmmmmmmm……Really?

Oprah’s people say that based on the fact that Cindy and George Anthony made an appearance and participated in an in-depth interview on CBS’s Early Show, and other programs they decided not to move forward with the interview at this time. Oprah’s people were asked by D’Ononfrio if this was true and her staff told her that there would not be any further comments at this time.

Well whoever called it off- I don’t care. I am happy that Oprah’s stage will not be graced by the likes of these two. I would welcome their comments and an interview long after the case has been tried and the sentencing done. I think that at this time they have nothing to share or add. I think that this is about money, period!

I know that this writer was out on e-mail, twitter, and Oprah’s direct web-site trying to get people to ask Oprah to dump the show. I think there was enough of a public outcry about this, and Oprah is just too good! Period.

Oprah Visits Walter Reed Hospital

February 26, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Earlier today I watched  the Oprah Winfreyshow, and was completely touched. Oprah was also completely touched as she broke into tears in the end!  As Oprah held up her arms in a small prayer  if you will, she said to the effect, We lift you up. Kudos to you Oprah and your staff for a very loving and touching show!

As we were taken into the hospital we saw strong, brave and even very young wounded men and women. My heart was heavy as Oprah went around and shook hands of each patient that was there as the therapy sessions were going on. Physical therapy for those who have lost limbs; one who only stood for the first time as the show was being taped!  Each were asked how they felt, and would they go back. Each who had served and each who had lost limbs all said they would go back in a heart beat!

It showed me strength beyond physical, it meant strength in God, themselves, and their families. It showed me bravery beyond just fighting behind a gun. Her show has opened my eyes and I, as Oprah did, want to say Thank You too!

Thank you to all those men and women who have given so very much. Thank you to all of those who have fought for our freedom. Thank you to those of you men and women in Iran and Afghanistan, for you will help my children and my grandchildren to live in a free country.

Everything that these men and women have done for all of us is so special. We all should be thanking them if we can. Go to www.oprah.com and post a thank you or see if there is something you can do.

And finally thank you Oprah for doing the show, it was an important show and lets hope that even if for one minute you had taken their pain away. You have made it better because you care. Thank you.

Giving The Brush-Off to Oprah?!

December 5, 2008 · 3 Comments

I think Oprah Winfrey is sort of, well, sounding like a little brat! Oh sorry Miss O but in a recent interview that was given to the entertainment show Extra, Oprah stated that she’d love to have Sarah Palin on her show after the election is over. Well now the election is over and Oprah has said that she has tried to talk to Governor Palin to no avail. And Oprah noted that she has been interviewed by Greta Van Susteren,Larry King, and even Matt Lauer but not her!

I think I recall one person that most likely knows how Oprah might feel in more ways than one. I wonder if Oprah can recall the number of times that late night talk show host David Letterman asked her to appear on his show?  Many, many years went by and she did not interview David Letterman, nor did he her. I guess that when you come to the top of the mountain and you are tops at your game, these two feel that perhaps you can’t say no to them after all, look who they are. David Letterman also took it personally when  he got the ole snubaroo from John McCain. He called off his appearance on the show and then did an interview with Katie Couric instead!  He was so miffed that he did one liners for the entire show! Ad-libbing until it was awful.

Oprah is a woman on top of the food-chain and it seems that it could only behoove Governor Palin to make an appearance on her show. But she better get it in soon as Oprah is taking her show on the road. She will be heading to Washington D.C. for inauguration week. It will be full of stars and politics and I am sure the subject of Michelle Obama’s gown will be greatly talked about. Perhaps Oprah will recruit some of her designers for the First Lady Elect. Who knows maybe they can go as twins?
