Very Drew Peterson Update

As many of you have followed my site for a long time, you may have seen my true disdain for Mr. Drew Peterson. I have a small update I’d like to report.

It goes as follows:

The Third District Appellate Court has upheld the guilty verdict and 38 year prison sentence placed on Drew Peterson. He was found guilty of drowning his estranged wife, 40 year old Kathleen Savio in March of 2004.

Also Peterson still faces charges of solicitation of murder for hire and solicitation of murder.

The complaint is that, Peterson, behind bars, secured an unnamed person to find another person to kill Will County State’s Attorney James Glascow.

To the circus clown that thought he was the teflon don~ how are you liking the view?

Drew Peterson Hearsay Arguments Today

Finally, after long anticipation the hearsay arguments are here. While Drew Peterson need not be present in the court room today, this case is a high-profile one and the interest spans those who have had brushes with domestic violence, or have been victim of murder and th media. It will be argued by the defense that this evidence is prejudicial and that it should not be allowed due to its unconstitutionality. But at this point in time the Illinois Appellate Court,  in an effort to be transparent, will broadcast live via the internet and tv feed.

This will be groundbreaking and historical in the State of Illinois. The Third District Appellate Court will let us see the inside of the arguments, of which is extremely rare. While this is not the criminal case being tried itself, the prosecutors are there to bring forth an effort to have at least 13 hearsay statements included  in the criminal trial of Drew Peterson.

Peterson is 57 years old and is currently being held and is charged with killing his third wife Kathleen Savio in 2004, and while he is a person of interest/suspect in his fourth wife Stacy Peterson disappearance, he has not currently been charged in any way regarding that case. Drew Peterson is in the Will County Jail in lieu of a $20 million dollar bail.

More on this story as the proceedings develop.

The Van Der Sloot Saga

Back in November of 2008 I wrote a post entitled Van Der Sloot #1 Slime Ball!, in that post I described Joran van der Sloot as a slime ball; a living the fast lane-brat with anti-social behavior at best, with a constant protector in his lawyer father. I mentioned in that post how I thought in my opinion, on just the previous history that we were all aware of, he needed to be removed from the streets. I thought that it would behoove the authorities to keep him imprisoned before he was apt to hurt yet another human being.

Unfortunately, he is now in the Lima Peru prison on the charges of murder of a young Peruvian woman. He is seen on tape in a casino and seen entering his hotel room in full interaction with Stephany Flores who was found in van der Sloot’s hotel room two days later dead.

The past week has yielded a series of interesting things regarding Joran van der Sloot. The lawyer that came forward to defend van der Sloot has resigned stating that he is receiving death threats. Joran’s mother finally came forward and is talking; like a song bird in fact!  Joran van der Sloot’s mother claims now that his mental health has been in decline since the Holloway case and that she also stated  he was going to be going into a mental institution just before this  all happened. Joran’s father is not here anymore, he has passed away from a  heart ailment. And while he cannot protect him anymore, I am sure that his very closest of friends have spoken with his mother and gave her the idea that she could try to build an insane defence for her son.  Joran’s fate finally looks sealed.

He long-line of intertwined wrong doings and seedy activities peppered with several murders and possible suspicions of two more missing girls in Columbia bring Joran to say he was tricked, and that his rights were violated without due process in Lima! He told a judge on Monday that he was coerced into making a confession and now a judge will have to determine whether or not that Lima authorities violated Joran van der Sloot’s rights by Wednesday.

I wrote in November of 2008 that slime had a way of oozing itself into the cracks of society and spreading itself along the cracks until those cracks were filled and that it would continue to ooze on until the next one was filled. This young man and his anti-social behavior from  the Holloway case, Dutch confession tape, Thailand prostitution tape, possible extortion charges with U.S. FBI, and now to this charge of murder the slime did keep oozing. This brat man-child living in the fast lane could not help himself it appears. It appears to me that he wanted what he wanted and he wanted when he wanted it! This is a scary individual.

It is this writers hope that this guy remain tightly enwrapped in the Castro Castro prison system of Peru never to see the light of day unless it is to answer more charges of murder, kidnap, acts of enslavery/ prostitution, and extortion. It would be an outrage if the judge in Peru rules in van der Sloot’s favor on Wednesday. At this point, Joran is crazy alright~ crazy like a fox and I hope it won’t work for a minute!

Humanity is Disgusting!

Seriously, I sat down to write a post and nothing was on my mind other than the single act of a lone human being to coming to the aid of another. When a person puts themselves in harm’s way to save a life, we deem these heroic, right? Take for instance, firefighters and policeman, we all know at a moments notice these men and women will go to far lengths to save complete strangers. They completely disregard their own lives and safety. And if you are reading this and have had your life saved or that of a loved one rescued you personally know that you are one of the lucky ones.

On Sunday morning at 5:40 AM, on 144 th st & 88th Rd. in Jamaica, Queens New York, a man did just that; he stuck his neck out in not only an act of kindness, but an act of selfless love for his fellow-man. He saw a woman being mugged by another man. This man could not stand to see another inflict pain upon this lone woman walking and  he took action!

Yes, this person was named Hugo Alfred Tale-Yax, he was 32 years old and he is my hero! Why? This man acted upon his instincts and little did he know that he would interject himself into what was about to become his last endeavour of his life. Mr. Tale-Yax, native of Guatemala was out of work. He in fact, was named as a homeless man, but he kept busy by doing odd jobs. He was trying to be an active member of society. Did I mention he was my hero? Notice how I throw that title around? A true hero comes to the aid of another without thinking of the consequences to his person. Mr. Tale-Yax could be anyone, but he isn’t.

Once Mr.Tale-Yax went to aid the woman in peril, he was subsequently stabbed several times in the chest by the woman’s attacker. While this ensued the woman ran away in the other direction. The knife-wielding attacker ran away too, and that left my hero, slowly hitting the ground as he too tried in vain to get away. Soon Mr. Hugo Alfred Tale-Yax perished. But he did not die a lonely death; for at least twenty-five pedestrians passed by his motionless body and it is reported that only 1-2 people actually called 911!  Disgusting and I shake my head. Many touched him and at least one took a picture of him. Perhaps they all thought him a hapless drunk, and did not know what to do; I’ll give that much. But my checks and balances are always to ask myself immediately would I want to be treated that way? If I saw a dying man I would try to help; it’s just me. I can’t be alone in this? Am I?

What if any would you have done? Can we teach and preach love to our fellow-man in church, schools, and tv? Have we become a nation where we can give to hurricane and earthquake victims but not to the lowly hero in town?  Why did this man of great substance die in vain? Why did he have to die at all? Was his number up? Most likely his fate is sealed in what we learn from his selfless act of love for his fellow-man. We need to continue to keep his story in the forefront of everyone’s mind. This is for world-wide consumption, not just for those in New York!  We need to change this people. We need to take time to care for people we do not know. This country needs to change the mind-set of “I want to get mine”! When ever you do something or think of something, please think of the homeless man with the funny name, Hugo Alfred Tale-Yax and pay homage to his selfless act of humanity. He is different from many~he extended a hand to his fellow-man and in turn lost his life.

For all those that strolled by, took pictures, and even laughed as blood pooled on the sidewalk, shame on you. You know who you are and I hope you are as sick to your stomach as I am! You shamed your city, your country and now the world!  For whom ever finally got the fire department there, thank you, it was too late but you had a small feeling in your heart that drove you to try to change that situation.

For me and in my house, I will continue to tell the story of Mr. Hugo Alfred Tale-Yax and his life changing event. I hope to raise children and surround myself with people who love and care and just give a damn!

A Post To Marinade Dave

I just left a little message to Marinade Dave today~ words of encouragement~blogger to blogger to let him know that there are people out here who write content sometimes daily, but most times not, that are filled with the truths as we know them, and the sarcastic deep setimented feelings we may have for the current subject. I left him a message to let him know that despite any accusations that may be out there if we stay true to ourselves and our written words, we will be okay.

A blog is a blog, when does it become more?  In the case of little missing Caylee Anthony, it became a story that grew into more than just a story, it was all about the cute missing little girl. It was also about the general public becoming vested emotionally. It was the chilling thought that thank god it was not us, or it hit us all like a ton of bricks because she was one in a recent parade of the missing and the found dead! Caylee’s story is about sadness. It is about caring grandparents that got side-swiped by something so astronomically repulsive they still don’t believe it!

The Caylee Anthony story made us all remember that it is not just about the creepy bad-guy or the boogie man~it was about a mother too soon with pressures mounting because too many her age have no responsibilities and are out just having fun! It is about parents in my age generation taking away and bearing more and more responsibility for our kids, Casey’s age. It’s life moving too fast for those who don’t have their feet on the ground; or perhaps it is about parents not recognizing problems in their young teens lives and letting it go out the window untreated, and unhealed.  No matter what it really is about, there is a toddler life gone, a young mother rotting in prison, and an endless dollar amount awaiting those living in the state of Florida.

If life imitates art, then of course there’s the upcoming book and movie that will be starring MarinadeDave~ the cool laid-back blogger who took Caylee’s loss emotionally, and his opinions about Casey Anthony and her illustrious staff of professional defenders, that no one can afford, right into the court-room!

I hope that this case can move forward and that it will be determined that the current accusations being strewn about are most untrue. Blogging to me is an expression of my ability to craft together sentences in a pleasing way for others to read. My intent at times is to make you smile and even laugh, but mostly it is to connect on a larger level with people who think like me. So blog away my friends, just always remember the old saying…..sticks and stones will break my bones and words will always get you into some kind of trouble!! Stay in the fight Marinade Dave and fellow bloggers, it’s your right.

I’m Honked Off How ‘Bout You?

Well if you have been following the news and the papers; I am sure you have heard that many school districts across this country are struggling with finances and unbelievable debt. But today, more than in recent, I have come to an impasse where I am about to blow a gasket! I am honked off and you should be too.

Why? First and foremost, our country built a tradition of passing on knowledge to the next generation. Then we provide public school education to all and we make this a law. If you don’t like the education system, then you get out and home school, right?

But it isn’t about liking or not liking the school system for me; for me it is about the true and utter disrespect being shown to that of every man, woman, and child in my state! Today upwards to 700-750 teachers, substitutes, coaches, library sciences, arts, choir, and band as well as janitorial staff were cut from the second largest school district in my state! We haven’t received the federal funding that was deserved this school and in the last two weeks several other very large school districts did the same, and they also had not received that federal funding. Without the federal funding the pink slips came.

One of the hardest things I have seen in a while is children going to speak into a microphone pleading to keep their teachers, or high school kids facing the loss of scholarship because there will be no music,no choir and no varsity sport.

When I look closely at my tax bill, I see that not only do I pay an absorbent amount of money for my property, I pay even more for my school district. The district that I have chosen to bring my children into. And then I stay because I think that in the long-term my children will benefit from a great school district. But my teachers cannot possibly teach and organize a class with 37 children, or 35 children, or even 30 children!  The children cannot get enough one-on-one attention to help them succeed. There are children that will need the extra help, and those children will fall through the cracks without attention.

There will be a huge amount of failure. And what I think will be worse is that within this model of “do what you can with the least amount of resources” cannot possibly result in anything good.  We are often challenged in the world arena as to why our children are not smarter than other world children is because we forgot to put them first. In most businesses, the business put its self first by paying itself and it is high time that we think about our education system that way too!

Put our kids first, and we pay ourselves by creating a better us. We cannot compete because the dollars are not there! How dare my state even tell us parents that! How dare my country for not thinking of our children first! After all I pay and I pay and I pay and so do you! I am not sure what can be done to help this situation but something needs to be done and done quickly. We created a lottery and lottery money has been designated to go to education systems across the country. You must have seen the sizes of these lottery pots, so I ask my state not only where did all that money go from my taxes, but what about all that lottery money? Where is it at?

Where is it all at?  Have you so badly mismanaged it? Have you squandered it? Then if not where can the itemization be seen? Pray tell?

I’m honked off and you should be too! Put our kids first and those educated kids will graduate and with any luck they will be smarter than the average politician running the country now!

Teflon Drew???

Hey let’s hope not! I liken Drew Peterson at this point to the back story of John Gotti. Why? Because the guy got away with murder for the longest time until finally someone close to him gave investigators the puzzle piece that was needed to seal his fate and end his life of crime.

In the case of Drew Peterson, he meant to be a good person and even became a cop, but then the ego and the power became too much for the person to handle!  The new insights into what he could do behind the badge were not only enticing but fueled, and it looks like, drove him more! It became easy for him to do illegal things and get away with them. The underlying abuser burst forth and the rest is about to be history!

As you may know the wise-cracking clown cop has been behind bars charged in the death of his third wife Kathleen Savio and is a suspect (the only suspect) in the disappearance of his fourth wife Stacy Peterson. Currently in Joliet IL hearings are continuing on the prospective evidence regarding the hearsay law or coined “Drew’s Law” against Drew Peterson. As many as sixty people will parade in front of the judge and he rule whether thereis enough evidence to allow the hearsay in the court room against Drew Peterson when the trial begins.

So far, and at this point friends, neighbors, family members, co-workers  and colleagues of the befallen wives have been called to witness. It has been chilling and interesting the things that have been said by those who have already taken the stand. Today, 1/26/2010 a reverend was to take the stand. This reverend Stacy Peterson was said to have confided in. He was said to have counseled her. What came out thus far today was that he was indeed counseling her and Drew too! How about that? When he counseled Stacy the reverend insisted on it being in a public place. The two would have meetings in the local Caribou Coffee shop, but when Drew and Stacy were counseled together, they did it with the reverend in the privacy of their own home. Today, as the reverend was about to show facts about what took place in those session/sessions together Brodsky and team Peterson put a stop to it. He asked the judge to seal the court. Brodsky argued that Drew Peterson told these things in confidence and that he did not want his client to endure a break in that confidentiality! Wow! But here’s the funny part-the judge allowed it! All media was removed and the room was cleared. The hearing then continued with just the defendant and the lawyers present.

We will keep on top of this as it seems that perhaps Drew’s own words will come back to haunt him! Only time will tell if the teflon is wearing off! Meanwhile, the Drew Drama Zoo continues on full-steam ahead!

Casey Anthony on Broadway!

For shame, shame on Steven Sodeberg!  The very creative director of such blockbusters like Erin Brockovich and the Ocean’s Eleven series, has launched an idea to create a new play and have it featured on broadway in Sydney Australia! Sounds great, right?

Why shameful? Because the play that Mr. Sodeberg has now written is one that is no less than extremely controversial here in states, that’s why! He has written a play with the subject matter being none other than Casey Anthony and her now deceased child Caylee Anthony! It first boarders on the yuck factor and then it lands on the really? factor! Why would a guy of his stature choose this subject matter? This is a matter that is not resolved yet either!  The trial has not begun, and while I have not even read one word of this possible Broadway stint, I feel that at this time it may very well be a terrible idea.

This case has catapulted all of America and now the world to come in contact with a little girl whose untimely death has sparked our core heartstrings and often brought the general caller to shows and messages to tears, will soon reach the crescendo in a trial that may well be filled with the hype and grandeur of the OJ case!  While many of the case documents have been shown to the public and TV and news/talk shows have had extensive coverage and debate still all the facts are not known. The actual trial and all of its spin will prove to be very interesting as well as awful in the discovery of all the facts as it relates to the loss of this a tiny defenseless little girl. Caylee Anthony will always be remembered. She has been memorialized in the most public of ways.

Her short life will be a never-ending one. And the trial of the mother who should’ve have loved and protected her will start soon, but that affair will be long, and drawn out and will be also a never-ending one! The coverage will be extensive and even macabre. We may even get sick of turning on the TV and will wish for it to all go away! Then suddenly a play will open on Broadway written by Mr. Sodeberg and I’ll shake my head and say I knew this was going to happen. I’ll be secretly hoping that it will bomb and ticket sales will be so low that opening show and closing show will be the same night.

Upon further review, the Casey Anthony defense team may even file a motion to suppress the release of the play depending on the content; that’s Baez way after all. Mr. Sodeberg perhaps you should wait until the trial is over before you open that play down under. Who knows the original thoughts that are in your head may even have you sitting in the court room amongst the new celebrity you will have helped to elevate; Casey Anthony! Perhaps the profit you make from the play could go to the tax payers of the State of Florida or the United States to off-set the super ugly costs involved!  Now that would be an original idea wouldn’t it be?

Too Many Children Murdered!

What in the world is going on? Too many little children of late are turning up missing and then discovered dead or perhaps never found again! Just today, the awful discovery and confirmed identification of the little girl in Florida is just so painful. It is so painful to hear, that yet another goes; fallen to an adult kidnapper!  It is unreal.

Why does it seem that there is no reverence for the lives of people? What has happened to the innocence of life? Where are those days when people in general sat around and talked to each other? It would be a spectacular thing to return to those times. All is not lost, right?

Perhaps if we could get more people into churches or really paying it forward to next guy. How about even just the passing smile given to the person next to you on public transportation, or holding the door for the little old lady. How about fighting for those teens in the inner city of Chicago?

Today I heard Diena Thompson the mother of the little seven year old girl who was kidnapped, and now murdered take a stance. It was hard and painful to listen to the utter anguish of her pleas to bring her daughter home in the days prior to today. Now that the positive identification has been made, this mother has said they will find you and get you. She also told the person that they had better watch out! Watch out we’re coming we’re going to get you! I am glad that she is now angry-she has more than a right to be angry. Gosh I’m angry too!

Diena Thompson also stated that once the police do catch this sick predator, she hopes that the person or persons would be strung up!  I agree.

What in the world is going on? What is also taking place in Florida? Are predator laws too lax there?   But more full-circle comes the struggle for young adults and teens . They already have angst. They already may be feeling like rebelling. Whatever the reasoning behind this struggle, parents need to continue to be parents no matter what the age.  We need to have eyes in back of our heads, we cannot leave tiny babes for one minute, and we need to get to know our teens and their friends. We as parents need to keep vigil no matter what!
